Semillón is a grape stock traditionally planted in Mendoza Argentina, it is base for different white wines in Uco Valley and at high zone of Mendoza River.
Its color is slight greenish yellow, with golden reflections in some cases. It stands out due to its aromas relate with honey, apricot and peach, wild herbs and some citrus. When tasted one feels its personality and well balanced, however sometimes it appears as light.It is used in blend for sparkling wines and also it is produced as varietal.
In Uco Valley and Patagonia reaches high quality, but in warmer regions has scarce acidity.

![]() History: Typical of Bordeaux, France, and a great star between the Sauternes. It is one of the most traditional wines of Argentina with a long history as Malbec. Surface: 1,027 hectares. Leaf: extended and contorted, medium-sized, opaque green and five-lobed. Cluster: medium, full and short coned. Berry: golden yellow, medium, oval with soft pulp. Wine: pale gold with straw-like hues. Balanced acidity. Slightly citric aroma, touches of honey, ripe peach and apricot; smoked or toasted notes can be appreciated especially in colder regions. |

In general, it has large berries, so, yield must be controlled by pruning to keep the plant thin. It is not a very vigorous variety, but produces plenty of fruit, which increases its qualities.
