Program

Day 1: City of Salta

We will be waiting for you at the airport or bus station of the city of Salta. Our guide will be waiting for you and we will go to hotel for the check-in. We will know the architecture and culture of our beautiful city; we will start with the historic center with its most important buildings and monuments, the General Güemes and February 20th, the latter in commemoration of the Battle of Salta and, after visiting the city headed its surroundings to visit the town of San Lorenzo and the handicraft market. At the end of the day we return to the hotel.

Day 2:Cafayate Wineries

Breakfast at the hotel. We will go to explore the city of Cafayate, a small town nestled in the heart of the Valles Calchaquíes where the beauty of its landscapes, the kindness of its climate, its excellent wines and friendliness of its people, are some of the reasons why tourists from worldwide choose Cafayate as their destination. This day, we will also see the facilities at two renowned wineries of Cafayate (you can choose the first one) where our guide will teach us about high altitude wines, its processes and systems of conduction of the vine. We will also share a talk about tasting techniques and we will taste the wines of our hosts. The second winery we will visit is El Porvenir de los Andes (one of the largest in the area), where we will enjoy a hearty Criollo lunch in a fantastic house framed by vineyards, accompanied by wines from the cellar. Then we will return to the hotel. Night in Salta

Day 3: San Antonio de los Cobres

Breakfast. We will begin our journey to the mythical village of San Antonio de los Cobres. This tour invites you to discover in a different way the journey that makes the world famous Tren de las Nubes, as during the tour we will be parallel to the tracks of it. We will cross the landscapes of the Quebrada del Toro and the incredible Quebrada de las Cuevas, where we will stop to enjoy each of the different landscapes that their offer. Then we will arrive to Santa Rosa de Tastil where we will know this small town of no more than 20 inhabitants, visit its small museum and the famous ruins of Tastil. From there we will go into the highlands with its lunar landscape to arrive at San Antonio de los Cobres. Then back to Salta through Campo Quijano.

Day 4: An unforgettable trip

Breakfast. When you tell us, we will coordinate your transfer from the hotel to the airport or bus station in Salta. If you wish, we can combine your stay in Salta with any of the wonderful destinations that Altura - Argentina Tourism & Wines has to offer in other Argentinian cities.
