Program

Day 1: Mendoza, Wonderful City

Reception at the airport or bus station in the city of Mendoza. We begin the transfer to the hotel where we will be waiting for you. In the afternoon we will do a City tour that includes the most important places of the city, known for its open ditches, and also we are going to visit the amphitheater Frank Romero Day, setting in which the world-renowned “Fiesta de la Vendimia” takes place. Then, we will tour Parque General San Martin, with more than 400 hectares in which there are about 300 species of flora; after that, we will go to Cerro de la Gloria, where the city of 1 million inhabitants is sighted, then we will see the Monumento al Ejército de los Andes, the most largest bronze structure of Argentina, the Centro Cívico characterized by its roman architecture, the Memorial de la Bandera where the original flag used to cross the Andes on horseback is kept, the Área Fundacional de Mendoza dating from 1561, the Ruinas Franciscanas (1731); and other sites of interest.

Day 2: Wineries of Mendoza (Lujan de Cuyo - Maipú)

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we pick you up to start the visit to the winery that it is called theHigh of the Mendoza River Wine Region or First Area (Maipú/ Luján de Cuyo). Here are the most prestigious vineyards of Malbec (the most important Argentine wine variety) and many of the internationally renowned wine cellars. We walk through the winery's basic amenities and, our guide will teach us about the wines from Mendoza, its processes and systems of conduction of the vine. Also, we will taste the benefits of their products. Then we will go to other winery which particularity is that it is a boutique wineryv. Called like that because it has a limited edition production of wines. Here we will share a talk about tasting techniques and, of course, taste wines from our hosts. In addition, we will enjoy a lunch of 3 or 5 steps in the third winery to visit, surrounded by a spectacular landscape of vineyards and mountains. In the afternoon we will return to the hotel.

Day 3: Adventure Destination

Breakfast at the hotel. Then, we will go to Potrerillos, a beautiful area with a magical combination of mountains, water and a blue sky. There, we will have a great time performing any of these activities: enjoying a really entertaining trekking across the mountain, having an exciting experience by practicing canopy, a mountain biking along small slopes or unleash the adrenaline rafting down the Mendoza river. You’ll make one activity in the morning and the other one in the afternoon. At the end of the activities that you chose and with a renewed spirit we will come back to the city of Mendoza. Night in Mendoza.

Day 4: Uco Valley wineries (high vineyards)

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we will start our trip to the region of Valle de Uco, located at 120 km south of the city of Mendoza. We will travel to the foot of the Andes Mountain Range, discovering landscapes of peaks of eternal snow which will surprise us at every turn of the road. Valle de Uco is a quintessential agricultural area and is the emblem of the wines of Mendoza. First we will visit the renowned Salentein Winery. This establishment combines techniques of European craft production with the use of advanced technology to achieve high-end wines known in the world. We travel over its facilities, taste their wines and admire the art gallery located on the same grounds of the winery. By its architecture, its services and its wines, no doubt that visit Salentein Winery is one of the wine`s attraction of our program. We will then know Domaine Bousquet winery. Its particularity lies in that all of their wines are produced with fruit from their own vineyards, obtaining a greater control of the production process, by giving as a result an excellent wine that, of course, during our visit we will taste. At the end, we will know the Andeluna Cellars winery, it is in a privileged location at the foot of the “Tupungato” volcano, a producer of high quality international wines. Here, we will enjoy a gourmet lunch at the winery restaurant. After our Valle de Uco experience, we will return to the hotel in Mendoza. Night in Mendoza.

Day 5: Andes Mountains

Breakfast at the hotel. This day we will go to one of the most important scenic attractions in the world, the Andes Mountain Range. We begin the tour in the wonderful mountains and tunnels route linking Argentina and Chile. Our first stop will be at the great Dique Potrerillos, situated in the middle of the Andes Mountain Range. We will continue our journey going to Uspallata (city where the film "7 years in Tibet, with Brad Pitt" was filmed and the southernmost point of the Inca Empire) in full central mountains, to then go to Polvaredas, a mountain village whose peculiarity lies in the friendliness of its inhabitants and where we will stop for lunch. Then we will continue toward the center of Sky Penitentes. After that, we will go to Puente del Inca and then to Horcones, where you will admire one of the highlights of the trip: the magnificent Aconcagua Mt. With its 6960msnm Aconcagua is the highest mountain in the Americas and meeting point for climbers worldwide who attempt the ascent to the summit. In the afternoon we will return to the hotel in Mendoza.

Day 6: Unforgettable Memories

Breakfast at the hotel. When you tell us, we will coordinate your transfer from the hotel to the airport or bus station in Mendoza. If you wish we can combine your stay in Mendoza with any of the wonderful destinations that Altura - Argentina Tourism & Wines has to offer in other Argentinian cities.
