This variety exists exclusively in Argentina, it is the only native varietal and due to its exclusiveness, it has become the typical Argentine white grape and one of the grapes with the bigger area implanted.
It comes from Spain and in Argentina there are different zones where it is cultivated: La Rioja, Salta, Mendoza and Catamarca.
This variety has strong and interesting personality; in our country can be obtained good wines and somewhat different of those in the rest of the world.
It is enologically complex, sometimes with expressive and pleasant fruity taste, fresh, well balanced between acidity and fruit. It has been used recently for production of sweet and sparkling wines with excellent results in both cases.
