NATIONAL GRAPE HARVEST FESTIVAL

In March there are different celebrations of the most important events, such as Carousel and the Via Blanca (parades of large carriers with all the queens and their courts through the streets of the city) and Grand Central Act in Teatro Griego Frank Romero Day, which is the main attraction of the party. Each year it becomes an innovative and gigantic artistic spectacle of dance, light and sound with hundreds of actors and dancers on a huge stage. Wine harvest and wines are always followed as plot line and tribute to the Virgen de la Carrodilla and all Argentine people involved in the wine industry of Argentina. The event always ends with the election of the National Queen of Vendimia and impressive fireworks that dance to the beat of the music for more than 20 minutes.
This is Vendimia, originated in the land of sun and good wine, a symbol of a generous and an open-minded heart.

Program

Day 1 - Wednesday March 2nd:

Reception at the airport or bus station in the city of Mendoza. We begin the transfer to the hotel where we will be waiting for you.

Day 2 - Thrusday March 3rd:

We will do a City tour that includes the most important places of the city, known for its open ditches, and also we are going to visit the amphitheater Frank Romero Day, setting in which the world-renowned “Fiesta de la Vendimia” takes place. Then, we will tour Parque General San Martin, with more than 400 hectares in which there are about 300 species of flora; after that, we will go to Cerro de la Gloria, where the city of 1 million inhabitants is sighted, then we will see the Monumento al Ejército de los Andes, the most largest bronze structure of Argentina, the Centro Cívico characterized by its roman architecture, the Memorial de la Bandera where the original flag used to cross the Andes on horseback is kept, the Área Fundacional de Mendoza dating from 1561, the Ruinas Franciscanas (1731); and other sites of interest.

Day 3 - Friday March 4th:

Breakfast. In the afternoon we will go to Mendoza’s wine oasis in a Winery Tour. Also we will visit the Church of the Carrodilla. We will go to two wineries for participating in tastings with their wines. We will learn about wines from Mendoza, its processes and systems of conduction of the vine. After that, we will know a factory of olive oil, in where we will observe the process of developing this product. Then, we will return to the hotel. At night we will enjoy the "Vía Blanca de las Reinas" which is parade of floats, free access, performed through the streets of the city of Mendoza.

Day 4 - Saturday March 5th:

Breakfast. Free morning to enjoy the "Carousel", a parade of floats where there will be the National Queens, traditionalist centers and culture of the different communities in our province. In the afternoon, we will go to the Greek amphitheater Fran Romero Day Theatre, to enjoy and participate in the biggest party of Mendoza: the election of the National Queen of Vendimia 2016. At the end, we will come back to the hotel.

Day 5 - Sunday March 6th:

Breakfast at the hotel. When you tell us, we will transfer from the hotel to the airport or bus station in Mendoza. Farewell and end of services. If you wish we can combine your stay in Mendoza with any of the wonderful destinations that ALTURA - Argentina Tourism & Wines has to offer in Argentina.
